Update (1/25)

I submitted another update to itunes last night, fixed a handful of things that should provide better performance overall.

new in version 1.2:

  1. Memory leak fixed in reader interface
  2. Reworked Cover Previews in issues table, used to use the full size first page and sized it down to fit in the table... caused memory issues and killed performance of the app with more than 4 or 5 issues in the table. NOW, new version of the client app will send a smaller size cover preview to the phone along with the full size pages. If the new smaller size cover isnt found, a placeholder "cover not found" image is displayed instead.
  3. Added a preference bundle with a slider allowing you to turn on/off cover previews. This is located in the main iPhone Preferences App.

still working on:

  1. Trying to get a response from the iTunes team about what is acceptable for a feature-limited free version... this has been very frustrating, and has been like pulling teeth to get any info from the iTunes folks... but i'll get something out there eventually
  2. I've got the basic foundation for a new Importing mechanism for getting your comics on the iPhone. Basically, when you have the Desktop client running it will broadcast what comics it has available to send. On your phone when you tap import, you'll be presented with this list and you'll select from this list which comics you want to import.

Also I've got an OSX 10.4.x (tiger) version of the Mac Client available now as well.

App seems quite a bit more stable, thanks a bunch. On the other hand, in my case the app has become unusable. Anytime I attempt to navigate around a page, it flips to the next page altogether. Has become nearly impossible to use. I spend so much time flipping back to the previous page, it's become too much of a hassle to read anything. I'll have to wait for a fix, just can't use it anymore.

hmm, are you noticing this when pages are zoomed? or normal sized? landscape or portrait view? does it happen for EVERY comic, or just some? I've been considering putting a larger buffer between pages... maybe this is my indicator to do so.

It seems to be mostly when zoomed in, portrait style. I've seemed to have found a bit of a work around. If after zooming in, if I pan the page just a little bit first and release, usually up or down, it seems to behave much like it did before. It's a bit annoying, but at least I can still use the app this way.

Also, it seems to be every comic.

sounds like when zooming in portrait, the next and prev pages arent being repositioned correctly... i'll get a fix to this asap, thx for the info!

Thanks a bunch, love this app, was so excited to download 1.2 and then so heartbroken when it seemed like i couldn't use it anymore. Anyways, thanks for the response.

ej,

I was wondering if there was any possibility you have a copy of the chilkatdotnet2.dll in a 64-bit version 8.6.0.0

I have a 64-bit copy of vista, and i believe (i'm not a programmer, this is just what i've put together through google research) i should be able to replace the 32bit version that installs with the exporter with the 64bit to get it working. I've managed to find a 64 bit copy, but it's version 8.7.0.0, which will not work, it must be the same version you reference...please help....

I downloaded the Pull Lists library for the mac os X tiger ,after it done installing the application doesn't open, It just doesn't work.

I'm currently working on getting the tiger version to work properly... i removed all the leopard only dependencies and it launches now, but there's something funky with the export. I'll continue to tweak it until its proper.
AND the windows client is moving along in development again, I'll try to get a 64-bit version available as soon as i can.

thank you for your patience!
