No more converting files before sending them to the app! Between this and the new capability to send files to your phone via iTunes, PullLists is now a completely stand-alone app!! No need for any other support applications!! (aside from iTunes of course).

What could make this even better? No more need for a desktop client, no more file converting… how about no more need to pay for it? Yeah, that would probably be nice. Ok, PullLists is now a free app!

All of this will be available to you when it makes it thru the App Store approval process, I'll update here again when it is available.

Oh yeah and One More Thing (heh), an iPad specific version is also awaiting approval at the app store!

FFGear Approved for Sale Again!

ok folks, FFGear is back in the itunes store.

After getting this new version, you will want to also pick up the iconTool that i created (Windows, Mac). These will allow you to get some nice custom icons back into the application, replacing the generic ones that ship with it.

I hope you all enjoy this new version and please let me know if you have any problems/trouble with any of the FFGear apps.

Now about a month and a half later, I've got a new version almost ready to submit to apple. It's currently in beta, couple more kinks that i need to work out and some new graphics in the works. I'm planning on submitting back to the itunes store sometime in the first or second week of Feb.

All of the fixes that were originally going to go out with v1.2 which got hammered down by SE, will be in this version. I have also added a new feature which will allow you to import your own icons for all the gear in this app. The app will ship with some default images (free from copyright infringement) for gear, but I'm sure you will want some better and more specific graphics.

Introducing the FTP Import!

You find this screen by tapping on [Update Application Data] from the Gear Sets screen. Then Choosing "User Generated (FTP)".

I recommend using FileZilla to transfer your files from this point. (http://filezilla-project.org/)

Just enter the "Connect To:" IP Address given to you by the FFGear app where it says "Host:" in FileZilla.

To Upload your images or data lists, just drag-and-drop the files onto the Uploads folder. Currently the app is accepting 3 different Files to be uploaded:

Icons.zip - archive of icons for gear items in the app.

GearInfo.plist - xml containing info on all the gear in the app.

food.plist - xml containing info on all food items in the app.

Aside from this, I'm also currently finalizing a Mac & Windows client that will build the three files mentioned above. It is a modified version of the tool that I had originally used to gather all the item/food icons. The Mac client is ready and the Windows client is very close. I'll update here when they are both ready and available to download.

For legal reasons i cannot host any of the files containing copyrighted images from FFXI, so it will be up to you all to either gather up your own (suggest by using one of the two client apps mentioned above) or maybe some of the other folks that are using this app will do so and provide them to you all.

Either way, I'm very excited to have this FFGear app so close to being available to you all once again!

I've fixed these both and added some other features like BLU spells and a better way to keep the app data up-to-date.

I also already have an update almost ready to post to the AppStore, this update will include Blu Spells (spell bonuses/trait-combos), a fix to prevent unnecessarily long app data updates along with a couple small bugs that I didnt find until after the initial appstore submission.

::Edit::

Oh yeah, weapon selection for PUP is broken currently... sorry... will be fixed w/the update

I'll be posting support documents here shortly

I've just finished testing this using the FileZilla ftp client. I plan on continuing testing with different FTP clients, but plan on pushing this out to the app store as soon as I can. If you have a preferred FTP client please let me know here and I'll test it w/PullLists.

Currently the FTP method will only work for .cbz(or .zip) files, but I'll also have a simple utility available for converting .cbr(or .rar) files to .cbz's.

Using this FTP method, all unarchiving and image resizing happens on the phone itself. After the upload completes, .cbz's are unarchived and the comic is added to your readable comics in the app. When displaying each page, the app checks the image size and resizes to the maximum supported size if neccessary.

keep tuned in, more info to come...

update 2/23

Ok, new version of the x86 Windows client is now available... still very beta, but has been stable so far. There are still features that i need to finish working on, but this is much more full-function than the previous version.
